Academy of Music
The Academy of Music, built in 1875, is located near the Andrássy Avenue and the Octogon. The first president of the academy was Ferenc Liszt (founder), while the first director was Ferenc Erkel. The institute is not only serving the high education of music, but plays also a leading role in the cultural life of Budapest. With an excellent acoustic large hall 1200, while in the smaller hall 400 visitor can be accommodated.
