Castle - Royal Palace
The Royal Palace is situated at the southern part of the castle. The palace was originally built in the Middle Ages, but was totally destroyed during the Turkish occupation. The today's baroque palace was constructed during the 17 th and 18 th centuries. Nowadays the building houses cultural institutes and museums (Széchenyi Library, Hungarian National Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Arts - Ludwig Museum, Museum of Budapest History.
