Budapest City Archives keeps 33.000 running metres documents concerning the history of the capital from the 14th century till today. The bequest of one of the greatest Hungarian architects, the photo collection of György Klösz, the documents of the city government, jurisdiction organs and civil law notaries, state, church and school registries, digital records and databases, etc. serve as sources for historical and private research. The archives have got an exhibition room, where temporary exhibitions concerning the history of Budapest can be visited. The working areas, like digitising, book binding and conservation workshops can be visited after arranging an appointment.
