These houses were named after the Styrian foresters colonized by Maria Theresa in 1750. Nowadays Woods and Forest Museum works in the pretentiously renovated buildings. On a stone plaque the names of important researchers, foresters can be read who once worked in the Kőszeg Mountains. The Museum is opened on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, however, on demand, it can be visited at other times as well. The Styrian Houses can be reached by 8 km walk in 2 hours from the Szabó Mountain bus station.
