The Matra region is one of the best winegrowing region in Hungary. It is about 7000 ha. Its soil is variegated. Thanks to its perfect climate and well positioned and soiled mounds it is a perfect grape growing area. Mainly white grape is grown here, emerging from them the odorous types, in which type's wine the delicate acid-compond harmonise with spiciness. Here grows probably the country's best muscal as well. Worth mentioning some red wines such as the Blue Frankish and the Cabernet Chavignon. The country's dessert grape production centralized to this region. Its main types are the "Italian Riesling", "The Unpronounceable - Harslevelu", "Muscat Ottonel", "Chasselas", "Blue Frankish", "Zweigelt", "Chardonnay", "Cabernet".
